Spirit Ashes found in Elden Ring are allies that frequently emulate foes within the Lands Between. They are summoned using the Spirit Calling Bell to assist you during battles.

 

HOW TO USE SPIRIT ASHES

To utilize Spirit Ashes, players initially need to acquire the Spirit Calling Bell from Renna at the Church of Elleh.

Similar to Items, Spirit Ashes can be equipped to Quick Slots or Pouch for usage. However, their activation is restricted to solo play and proximity to a Rebirth Monument.

Upon summoning in a specific area, re-summoning is prohibited until resting at any Sites of Grace or employing Fast Travel.

Players can reutilize Spirit Ashes to dismiss an ongoing summon.

Exiting the valid summoning area boundary will automatically dismiss active spirits.

Spirits can be summoned only once within an encounter, preventing their re-summoning after demise during a boss battle.

Summoning spirits is impossible while under the influence of the Furlcalling Finger Remedy. Reapply the remedy to nullify its effects.

The summoning of spirits demands either FP or HP, depending on the summoning type.

 

 

UNLOCKING SPIRIT ASHES UPGRADES

Roderika stands out as the sole NPC capable of enhancing Spirit Ashes. Access to her services follows a brief side quest:

Initiate a conversation with Roderika at the Stormhill Shack. Proceed to Stormveil Castle to obtain the Chrysalids' Memento. Deliver the obtained memento to Roderika upon returning. Journey to the Roundtable Hold and engage in multiple dialogues with both Roderika and Blacksmith Hewg until exhausting their available options. Refresh the area by leaving or utilizing other methods. Witness Roderika seated across from Blacksmith Hewg, prepared to upgrade your Spirit Ashes.

 

UPGRADING SPIRIT ASHES

Spirit Ash Upgrades uniformly amplify the summoned entities' Offensive capabilities and Defensive resilience.

Two distinct Spirit Ash types exist, each requiring specific Upgrade Materials:

Standard Spirit Ashes utilize Grave Gloveworts.Renowned Spirit Ashes use Ghost Gloveworts.

Notably, enhancing Giant Rat Ashes results in an increase in their numbers, distinguishing them with a unique upgrade characteristic.
